Mr. Asok Chattopadhyay

Founder / Chairman

Mr. Asok Chattopadhyay was born in an illustrious family in South Kolkata. His academic qualifications include Bachelor of Science, Chartered Engineer, M.I.E – Member of Institute of Mechanical Engineering, F.I.Marie – Fellow of Institute of Marine Engineering and Diploma in Ship Finance & Management, University of Cambridge. He worked as a Marine Engineer and then as an Engine Superintendent in varied capacities with Indian and International companies.

Mr. Asok Chattopadhyay, Chairman of Confidence Shipping Group established the main group companies of Confidence Shipping Company Pvt. Ltd and Race Shipping & Transport Co. Pvt. Ltd in 1983. Over the years Mr. Chattopadhyay went on to building 7 branch offices across India, Dubai and Singapore. He gradually diversified and established various companies like Ocean Education and Research Center – to enhance value added courses for seafarers; Preeshita Tours and Travels Pvt. Ltd for providing easy access for travel documentations for seafarers; Preeshita Impex Pvt. Ltd – trading and import-export and a fully owned subsidiary CSC Shipping (S) Pte Ltd, Singapore.

Today, the Confidence Group is a testimony of his spirit and dynamic capability as a business leader.

Mr. Sekher Banerjee

Director - Operations

Mr. Banerjee has an all-around exposure for over 45 years in the marine field. Following this DMET Course from Marine Engineering College in Kolkata, he joined prestigious company M/s Scindia Steamship Navigation Co. Pvt. Ltd, and became a Chief Engineer Officer in 1974. Since then he has gained 17 years experience as Chief. Engineer on Various types of vessels. He was connected with Ship repairs firm mainly D.D. and vessel repairs for 3 years. And Experience is vessel manning and personnel management for last 25 years till date.

Mr. Banerjee is the Director In-charge of Operations for Confidence Shipping and looks after the complete operations in the areas of personnel ship management and manning services for various foreign principals, the main activities of the Group. Most recently he was Director of FOSMA. Mr. Banerjee continues to be guiding force to the Maritime Industries

Ms. Ishita Chattopadhyay

Director - Business Development

Ms. Chattopadhyay is an International Development expert and holders Master Degrees in Clinical Psychology from University of Mumbai, Master of Public Health [Health Management & Policy] from University of Michigan, Diploma in Corporate Strategy and Supply Chain Management, Cornell University and Program Management Professional. She has worked in the UN and in various International Development agencies building country level and global projects on health and economic development.

After living and working in USA for 11years, Ms. Chattopadhyay recently joined CSC as our Director for Business Development. Ms. Chattopadhyay is a program management and marketing expert. She provides support for overall promotion of all activities under Confidence Shipping Group of Companies. As an expert in Business Promotion she is in-charge of back stopping all global networks and collaborations for CSC. She operates out of India and USA.

Capt. Pradeep Chandna

Advisor

Captain Pradeep Chandna is an Advisor to Confidence Shipping. He has more than 18 Years sailing experience with companies like The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd, M/S Egon Oldendorff, Germany, and M/S Anglo-Eastern Ship Management, Hongkong. He has sailed in various ranks – from Trainee Officer to Master. One of the first Indians to command a Liquefied Gas Carrier. His other experiences include Cape size Bulkers and Tankers.

He has been involved in Maritime Training since 1999 as Principal and Director of Ace Maritime Institute' and 'Ocean Education & Research Centre'.

Mr. A.P. Soj

Director – Administration

Mr. Soj has vast experience in providing consulting and advisory services on Companies Act, Foreign Exchange Management Act, SEBI Act, Securities Act and other Corporate Acts and also liaises with the various Government Authorities, such as Registrar of Companies, Regional Director, Company Law Board, Ministry of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India.

Mr. A.P. Soj is in-charge of all administrative and company legal matters. He takes care of all statutory compliances and provides legal advice to the group.

Capt. Bibas Pal

Capt. Pal has over 32years of experience in the Shipping sector. He has been Master Mariner of tanker vessels and is highly experienced in vetting and an ISM auditor.

Mr. Dhanraj Naik

Mr Dhanraj Naik is highly experienced in tech management of Vessel inspection and Audit. He has 11 Years of experience as Chief Engineer with Hong Kong Based company on Cape Size Bulk Carries, Reffer Vessels and Product Carriers. Thereafter he was based in Hong Kong with the same company as superintendent for 7 years. Since 2004 till date Heading Training Institute conducting STCW courses, managing chemical tankers and demolition voyages.
